Rover Tours
JOIN US FOR A SHELLING AND LIGHTHOUSE CRUISE ABOARD THE CAROLINA ROVER!
The Carolina Rover will take you, your family and friends out on a 4 hour Eco-tourism cruise that is guaranteed to be unlike any other attraction along the Grand Strand. Our comfortable shaded 40 ft. pontoon boat cruises on smooth inland waters to a remote barrier island where the Winyah Bay meets the Atlantic Ocean. Glide through a bird-watcher’s paradise by South Carolina’s oldest and operational lighthouse, the Georgetown Light (1811), she has lit the way for over two centuries of seafarers. Disembark on North Island to explore and beach comb where the sea unfolds her secrets, depositing an ever-changing array of shelling opportunities. Observe the sight of a Civil War wreck, the Union flagship USS Harvest Moon, while our on-board naturalists delivers an informative commentary with reference to our historic plantation tidelands. Keep an eye out for Dolphins, Bald Eagles, Shore Birds, Alligators, Sturgeon, and maybe even Sea Turtles!
